Sylloge Nummorum Graecorum
The Sylloge Nummorum Graecorum series first began in 1931 in the United
Kingdom with the publication of the Spenser collection. Since then
many European countries have followed suit and begun publishing their
extensive holdings in Sylloge format, as has the United States. The
sylloge format offers minimal (if any) background information about the
coins it catalogues; instead it briefly lists types and varieties and
includes illustrations on the facing page for ease of use.
