Brett, Agnes Baldwin. Catalogue of Greek Coins. Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. New York: Attic Books, 1974 reprint. xvii + 340 pp., 115 ppl. Brown cloth with pictorial dust jacket.

A very useful catalogue of the superb collection in Boston's Museum of Fine Arts, principally acquired from Edward P. Warren and Theodora Wilbour. The collection includes 2348 coins, many of which are of the highest rarity and are superb examples of Greek numismatic art (e.g., the nearly-perfect Demareteion dekadrachm, the reverse of which is illustrated on the dustjacket). Selections from the collection were sold in NFA 8, 6 June 1980, and do still occasionally appear on the market. Originals are rare and generally bring more than $500 when offered. The plates in the Attic Books reprint, which runs about $175-225, are of very good quality.
